The Next Project?
Same enthusiast. A completely different story.
Mike proved something to me — you don't need the fastest, newest or most expensive car to create something with personality.
So what happens after Mike?
Truthfully... I don't know yet. 😂
I've got plenty of ideas, though.
A sporty Focus could become something playful. An ordinary black MG could turn into The Villain. An SUV could send DVOC in a completely different direction.
The cars below aren't a shopping list and they aren't fixed plans. They're simply a few examples of what happens when I look at a car and start thinking:
“What could that become?”
I don't want DVOC to have a formula. The next project could be low and aggressive, bright and ridiculous, big and adventurous — or something I haven't even considered yet.
The right car, the right opportunity or the right partnership could change everything.
🖤 MG6 — The Villain
The MG6 has always interested me because it's a little different. It isn't the obvious choice when you think of a sporty-looking saloon, and that's exactly why I like it.
I'd start with a later UK MG6 in black and take the theme properly dark.
Black wheels, blacked-out details, tinted lighting, subtle red accents and a slightly more aggressive stance. Nothing covered in huge graphics and nothing trying too hard — just a clean black car with a slightly sinister side.
Hence the name:
The Villain. 😈
The red would be used sparingly. A little around the wheels, lighting and lower details would be enough to break up all that black without taking away from the overall look.
Would I build it exactly like this? Maybe. Maybe not.
That's part of the fun.
This concept isn't a shopping list or a finished plan. It's simply what happens when I look at an ordinary MG6 and start wondering...
“What could that become?”
And that's exactly what I want the next DVOC project to be about.
💙 Ford Focus — Sulley
Mike might be small, green and a little bit unusual.
So naturally, at some point, he's going to need a bigger blue mate. 😂
A Mk3.5 Focus has been on my list for a while, particularly the 1.5 EcoBoost, and Deep Impact Blue gives me a very obvious direction to take it.
Meet Sulley. 💙💜
Rather than simply modifying another Ford in the same way as Mike, I'd want Sulley to have his own personality. A stronger stance, darker wheels and trim, with subtle purple details breaking up the blue.
The Monsters inspiration would be there, but I wouldn't want to turn it into a cartoon car. The idea is that from a distance you'd see a seriously nice modified blue Focus.
Then you notice the purple.
Then you hear the name.
And suddenly it all makes sense. 😂
Like all of these concepts, Sulley isn't a fixed shopping list or a promise of what comes next.
He's simply another answer to the question:
“What could that become?”
🐯 Ford Focus — Tigger
Some cars just tell you what they want to become.
And when you start with a Tiger Eye Orange Ford Focus, there was really only one direction my brain was going. 😂
Meet Tigger. 🐯
I’ve had a Mk3.5 Focus on my radar for a while, particularly the 1.5 EcoBoost, and this colour gives the car bags of personality before you’ve even touched it.
But this is DVOC... so obviously I’d have to touch it.
The idea would be to keep that fantastic orange as the star of the show, then build around it with black wheels, darker trim, a sportier stance and a few carefully placed tiger stripes.
Not stripes covering every panel.
Just enough that you look at it once and think:
“Hang on... I see what you've done there.” 😂
Unlike Sulley, I wouldn't necessarily go for a huge wide-body look. Tigger would be lighter, playful and energetic — a car that's supposed to make you smile rather than look intimidating.
The black and orange combination already works brilliantly, so the trick would probably be knowing when to stop.
Would the finished car look exactly like this concept?
Probably not.
Half the fun of modifying a car is changing your mind halfway through anyway. 😂
But that's what these Next Project concepts are about.
Take an interesting starting point, add some DVOC imagination and ask:
“What could that become?”
And apparently, sometimes the answer is a tiger. 🐯😂
🏔️ Ford Kuga — The Adventure
This one is different.
And that's exactly why it's here.
I've spent most of my life being drawn towards hatchbacks, sporty cars and things that look better sitting a little closer to the ground.
A Kuga would take me completely out of that comfort zone.
So rather than trying to turn one into another low, aggressive road car, I'd go the opposite way.
Up. 😂
Chunkier wheels and tyres, a tougher stance, roof equipment, practical upgrades and some bold detailing to give it a proper adventure feel.
This wouldn't be about building something to look fast.
It would be about building something that makes you want to throw some stuff in the back and disappear on a road trip for the weekend.
And because this is DVOC, I'd still want some colour involved. A darker or satin grey body with bright turquoise details could give it plenty of personality without losing the rugged look.
Would I actually know what I'm doing building something like this?
Absolutely not. 😂
But that's one of the reasons I'd love to try it.
The next DVOC project shouldn't necessarily be something familiar. It could be an opportunity to learn about a completely different type of car and a completely different style of modifying.
Bigger. Higher. More practical. And definitely not subtle.
Because sometimes the answer to:
“What could that become?”
...isn't lower.
It's bigger. 🏔️
So... what actually comes next?
The honest answer?
I haven't got a clue. 😂
The Villain, Sulley, Tigger and The Adventure are four completely different ideas — and that's exactly the point.
I don't want DVOC to become a place where every car gets the same wheels, the same stance and the same treatment.
One project might be low, dark and aggressive.
Another might be bright, wide and slightly ridiculous.
And the next one might have chunky tyres, a roof rack and be heading in completely the opposite direction.
These concepts aren't a shopping list.
They're just examples of what happens when I look at an ordinary car and start wondering what it could become.
The actual next project could be one of these.
It could be something completely different.
It could even be a car I've never considered before.
The right car, the right opportunity or the right partnership could take DVOC somewhere I haven't even thought of yet.
And that's probably the most exciting part.
Whatever comes next...
