Nissan Qashqai – The Unexpected Love Affair

Qashqai

When Mike needed a new clutch, a nearly new Nissan Qashqai courtesy car turned an ordinary commute into a surprisingly memorable driving experience.

I had hoped for a Ford Kuga, but Enterprise Colchester supplied a black Qashqai instead. Coming from my 2011 Fiesta, the high driving position and modern cabin made quite an impression. The push-button start and electronic handbrake took a little getting used to.

BEHIND THE WHEEL — THE DRIVE

The throttle response felt smooth and effective, and acceleration seemed effortless compared with Mike. I enjoyed it so much I found myself taking the long way home after work. My partner loved it on an evening drive too.

INTERIOR & TECHNOLOGY — WELCOME TO THE FUTURE

The speed-limit warning was useful while getting accustomed to the car. The air conditioning was astonishingly cold, even on a low setting.

THE DVOC VERDICT

I genuinely looked forward to seeing the big black Qashqai waiting in the car park. Returning it was surprisingly sad, and it made me seriously consider an SUV for my next car.
